Connections

Friday night my aunt and I decided to get dinner out and make one last trip to JasmineSola, a formerly-lovely chain of clothing stores that was ruined after being bought out by New York & Co. Summer clothing was 90% off, but most of the store was still 70% off; the store is going out of business, but they still want to squeeze every last cent out of their loyal fan base. I didn't buy anything.

Afterwards, we stopped at a cafe, got dessert, sat, and talked for a while before wandering around the mall for a while longer. We ended up at Stil, a boutique with three locations around Boston. The clothing is all from Northern European designers, though much of the jewelry is local. Several months ago, the manager at another location commented on one of my pearl cluster necklaces. Though nothing ended up coming from that, I got to talking with the woman working at this store and mentioned offhand that I had just dropped some jewelry off for a new store opening off Newbury Street. Turns out, she's a freelance writer and has done several pieces for an online magazine called Lovely. Currently she is working on a piece profiling up and coming jewelry designers in the Boston area. I gave her my card, she checked out my Etsy site, and loves my jewelry! Wow.

Check back for more updates!
